SportsFans USA Develops MarketRewards™, an Innovative Fan Loyalty Software Suite

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – September 7, 2002 - SportsFans USA, a strategic marketing, technology, and management agency providing “Championship Solutions Since 1993,” announced today the completion of development of MarketRewards™, a new suite of online products which revolutionizes customer loyalty/retention programs in the sports industry by eliminating the need to invest in technology. MarketRewards™ provides real-time rewards promotions, event planning, fan interaction, and profitability information, as well as critically important trend analysis and forecasting to help support the decision-making processes in many areas of database marketing and customer retention strategies.

"MarketRewards™ eliminates the need for high-end, high cost technology which may include additional computers, servers, networks, card scanners, hand-held devices, not to mention all those plastic cards that fans are forced to hold in their wallet. MarketRewards™ allows clients to interact with their fans via the Internet. They can use MarketRewards™ to build promotions and rewards programs and track the results calculating the ROI for each of their marketing efforts. “Sports teams sometimes think that loyalty clubs are purely about the points or rewards. They believe the points generate an effective call to action for fans to come more frequently,” said Ken Jenkins. “To some extent this is true, point-based rewards do draw fans. However, the problem with points is they do not take into consideration the profitability of a customer. In order to see significant gains in top-line revenues and bottom line profits, you must use the information gathered from your fan database to market to fans that (1) haven’t come in a while, (2) could come more often, or (3) spend more in your organization. MarketRewards™ does this without investing in technology,” adds Jenkins.
